Seriously. This game could be so fun, but it doesn't follow its own rules. Have you ever had a DM that gets angry when the players kill an important villain or win a difficult fight? The kind of DM that sees the players as his enemies, rather than friends he's guiding through an adventure? That's what this game feels like. It feels vindictive, like it has something to prove.I come across a camp of four sleeping bandits. I disarm their traps and sneak up on them, thinking I have the upper hand. But when I attack, not only do I get no attack bonus for trying to hit someone WHO IS ASLEEP, the bandits' stats are wildly inflated. The caster has an AoE fear spell with a will DC of 18, and he spams it. The greatsword fighter has an AC of 24 and does 2d6+20 damage. The dagger rogue can sneak attack even when he's not flanking, and the archer has precise shot. My party is level 2, guys. And even the ones I kill only give xp as if they were CR 1s.I go back to town to try to recruit a new companion, because the ones the game gives you are somehow way less optimized than the freaking bandits
