Hello Flyrix,

To make the map compatible you should do the following.

Activate all artifacts, TOE spells and heroes for the map (this is safest done by editing the .xdb file in the .h5m archive with a text editor). EDIT Example as RMG map:







Also a map should not contain any scripts whatsoever as they may interfere with the MMH55 framework and break the mod.

I have a question about difficulty level. What mean the description which appears when the difficulty level is changed?

"Computer players receive additional creatures to compensate for the auto-battle".

How can I disable the receipt of additional creatures by the computer players? This is somehow related to the H55_AICheatMode settings option? Should I set this option to "0" or "4" to the computer player haven't the bonuses?

Could you be more specific about which hero and specialization you think strengthening?

The mod is build on the following idea: All heroes are useful in the long run for "very hard" monster strength. Map specifics also play a role sometimes (poor maps; small maps; big maps)

Hero specializations can be divided in a couple of groups:

0. Hero boosts.
- Hero initiative boost - hero turns come faster with each level he gets.
- Hero attack damage bonus - This specialization is tightly correlated with very tough might heroes as the player can combine it with a chain hitting effect (chain strike, avenging strike) or combined with . By the end of the game the hero will do massive damage to stacks because he will hit way too often while his army will be tough due to high Attack and Defense skills.


1. Army might Offensive
- creature efficiency boost(attack/defense bonus) - single stack becomes very powerful by the end of the game.
- Initiative boost aura - creatures act faster by the end game.
- various army attack/damage boosts (including hero primary skill bosts)

2. Army might Defensive
various army defense/archery resist/magic resist boosts (including hero primary skill bosts)


3. Magic amplifiers
- additional spell cast - bonus spell cast along with the hero cast - bloodlust
- single spell efficiency increase - haste, fireball, raise dead, wasp swarm,
- additional spell effects - Vulnerability, Weakness, Confusion,poison master
- Chosen of Chaos (Biara +1 luck, no enemy tactics) - this is specially for Destruction + Luck and also negates might heroes Tactics skill.
- mana replenishing - Dark ritual, Mystic - increase magic hero endurance
- bonus spellpower

4. Magic protections:
- Spellwringler and spelltwister - can block enemy spells - very powerful abilities but are useful mostly in PvP.
- Souhunter/Master of elementals - ghosts/units appear on the field under specific conditions. This one is very powerful early and late game. Early game because it helps to grind creatures easier, late game because it blocks enemy units and exhaust retaliations.
- spell and rune cost reduction - makes hero able to cast more spells/runes. in MMH55 spells are expensive and runes are steep in price.

5. Utility:
- Experience + Knowledge bonus - benefit from more creatures, resources, spell endurance and faster level up.
- creature weekly growth boost (N number of creatures per week per hero level) - single stack becomes numerous by the end of the game.
- War machine boosts - artillery becomes very powerful by the end game, Tent reduces casualties to zero (if played correctly) during the entire game.
- Economy(Diplomacy included) - Various daily resource bonus that stacks during the game and allows the player to build faster high level buildings and recruit more creatures by the end of the game (this is a big problem as economics is tight when maintaining more than 1 castle).
- Logistics bonuses - extremely versatile skill. In the hands of good player allows to cover more ground, kill more creatures, get more treasures and outmanoeuvre your enemy.


6. Specializations that were given additional effects because they were a bit weaker:
- Zombie specialization gives creatures per week and +1/+1 bonus
- Dark ritual ability also grants +1 knolwedge per 8 levels

7. Specializations that are for fun or not tested:
- stack weekly growth for neutral creatures - mummies, Manticores, wolves - theoretically it is possible to use them instead of one of your main stacks.
- Erwina - Coven mistress - I put this here because it was never tested for balance in a long run.
- Stronghold Shaman and Witches classes - They are playable but never tested extensively in the PvP. High level of skills required to maintain some builds for example hero that starts with Light magic.


We are satisfied with the balance and no further changes are expected.

I'm interested in specializations from the type "Increase in characteristics." You write that now Irbet (master of the ritual) gets a plus to knowledge. But the same Theador gets a plus for the attack and nothing more. Similar cases exist in other races. I do not know what other specs can be given, except classical ones (NHF creators understand this), but these heroes need to be strengthened.

Yrbeth gets +1 knowledge because Dark ritual ability is really weak. Also Knolwedge by itself is very passive bonus so it is usually given with other minor bonuses like bonus Experience or Dark ritual.
Other bonuses like attack, defense and spellpower are ok compared to other specializations because they give flat bonus towards all creatures or all spells.

It may seem weak if you compare the bonus number from primary skill specialization to a bonus from other types of specializations for example:

bonus attack - at level 30 a hero will get a bonus of 4 attack which is about 13.32% damage increase for the whole army.
bonus to creature stats - at level 30 a hero will grant 15 attack and 15 defense to a specific stack which is 49.95% damage and 49.95% defense boost but this is only for 1 type of creature and can be easily countered in the following ways :
- focus fire the creature so it dies faster and thus render the specialization useless
- blind the creature so it is useless
- puppet master - turns the specialization against the enemy
- Destruction gives a lot of ways to destroy or weaken single stacks as well
- with summoning one can send phoenix or block the creature if it is not a flyer.

Primary defense bonus can be justified the same way as primary offense.

Primary spellpower bonus compared to single spell specialization bonus is more or less the same but here we talk about spells:
bonus spellpower - at level 30 hero will have +4 spellpower bonus for all spells
bonus single spell - for example Swarm queen gets 5% damage bonus for Wasp swarm spell per level. at level 30 this is 150% bonus which is a lot! But it can be countered in many ways such as:
- vs Undead is useless
- vs Spellwringles is useless
- Enemy will always have ring of banishment because it is a minor artifact and a player can find it a couple of times even on a medium map.
- By picking such hero your strategy is defined since beginning so enemy will most certainly pick a hero that can get "Shatter Summoning"

The idea is that each hero can counter and can be countered by opponent mix of Hero type (might, balance, magic), specialization and artifacts.


Some general thoughts - I would very much appreciate adding more heroes with unique specializations as in NHF but it is not possible because the EXE we are using is version 3.0 where the NHF utilize version 3.1. There are some major differences in what scripting allows between both versions so some of the NHF specializations are not possible to make.

P.S.

In single paragraph, specializations are 2 types - broad and narrow.
- broad are weaker but constantly applied and hard to counter
- narrow are stronger, they are applied under certain conditions but are easier for the enemy hero to divert.

I created a map, but it does not exist:
-Gubernators, restructuring, city teleport
-Killing for taking certain skills
-Characteristics for some skills
- Banks of beings. They are, but they are guarded by standard creatures or a small army.
The map was created in Utility. With HMM5.5 64bit the case is the same. Help me please. Thank you.

This happens because map scripts are not enabled.
The easy way is to use Mapmixer to do it.

Here is a little guide I made that shows how to generate a map.

What you need to do is start Mapmixer, browse the map and click OK.
You do not need to change anything in default settings.

Let me know how it goes!
